Condolence Letter to President of Sri Lanka

Honourable Maithripala Sirisena
President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
His Excellency
I write on behalf of The World Federation of KSIMC to express our profound shock and horror at the senseless acts of violence we witnessed on Easter Sunday, 21 April 2019. Our heartfelt condolences and sympathies are with the people of Sri Lanka and our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their lives so tragically, and those who will continue to live with the injury and trauma suffered as a result of these horrific events.
We are appalled by the brutal and unmerciful acts of violence from individuals who claim justification in religion. In their warp and distorted thinking they see tolerance of openness of caste, creed and religion as a threat.
This is a tragedy of our time that can only be felt in the hearts of all upstanding human beings who inhabit our world. In this time of national anguish for Sri Lanka, good people of all faiths must come together to do all they can to assist the survivors of the tragedy, as well as for the families of the innocent men and women who lost their lives.
We condemn these attacks as well as any and all acts of violence and barbarity directed specially against the worshipers in their places of worship.
Yours sincerely
Anwarali Dharamsi President
